Half Moon Rat Terriers

We are a small breeder of Type A Mini and Standard Rat Terriers with Fire Mountain lines.  We strive for "All-Around-Dogs" that will be super companions and/or performance dogs.  Our dogs are OFA Certified and will have at least their preliminary testing completed before any breedings take place.We have now included PLL (Primary Lens Luxation) testing in our program.  Read more about PLL.

Half Moon is located on the Texas Gulf Coast and nestled in the Live Oak groves southwest of Houston. We are actively involved with volunteer work in our community that is geared toward education, rescue and therapy.

Any dog at Half Moon that we intend to breed will be veterinary tested and OFA Certified at 12 months and again at 24 months as is age appropriate.  We do this to reduce the risk of genetic issues in our offspring and while this is no guarantee that it will never happen - we do the best we can to reduce the risk of it ever happening to pups bred at Half Moon Rat Terriers and we will spay/neuter and remove any dog tested poorly from our breeding program
