Half Moon Rat Terriers

We are a small breeder of  Miniature and Standard Rat Terriers with Fire Mountain lines.  Our Ratties are bred to be companion or performance dogs with emphasis on health, structure and temperament.  Half Moon Rat Terriers are built to work and play hard and love being with their people.  "Our Dogs Just Do It!".  

At HALF MOON our dogs are OFA Certified and we have now included PLL (Primary Lens Luxation) testing in our program.  Read more about PLL.

HALF MOON is located on the Texas Gulf Coast and nestled in the Live Oak groves southwest of Houston.  We are actively involved with volunteer work for animals and people in our community that is geared toward education, rescue and therapy.

 At Half Moon we utilize the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).  The OFA will provide certification to dogs that have been checked for hereditary health problems, particularly Patellas, Heart, PLL and LCP.   We do this to reduce the risk of genetic issues in our offspring and while this is no guarantee that it will never happen - we do the best we can to reduce the risk of it ever happening to pups bred at Half Moon Rat Terriers and we will spay/neuter and remove any dog tested poorly from our breeding program
